Center for Organic Farming

The Center for Organic Farming at the University of Hohenheim (ZÖLUH) Hohenheim was assigned the task of coordinating the Organic Farming Research Program by the Ministry for Science, Research and Arts of the State of Baden-Württemberg.

Over the years, ecological farming has become an integral part of the research at the University of Hohenheim as well as other universities and research institutions in Baden-Württemberg. The Center for Organic Farming supports researchers regarding application procedures and in establishing networks. The Center for Organic Farming is highly interconnected with the organic sector, which makes collaboration in inter- and transdisciplinary projects possible. The Center for Organic Farming also contributes to national and international knowledge transfer with the organization of conferences on Organic Agriculture, such as the 11th Winter Conference Organic Farming Baden-Württemberg andthe 19th International Conference on Organic Fruit Growing.

As the research program develops, the Center for Organic Farming will also take over the content-wise coordination and public relations activities, as well as the knowledge transfer to other stakeholders.

Planned Activities

  • Connecting partners from different projects amongst each other and together with other stakeholders of the organic sector.
  • Public relations activities: Joint online presence with all funded projects, creation of leaflets, and presenting the research program at events, e.g. Biofach in Nuremberg, the Green Week in Berlin, Organic Farming Field Day, press releases
  • Conducting seminars, meetings of the project coordinators for exchanging experiences, transdisciplinary further trainings, and the closing conference.
