Organic Farming Research Program

The "Organic Farming Research Program" was established by the State of Baden-Württemberg in order to strengthen the ecological agricultural sector in the region. The pooling of studies on organic agriculture, as well as the development of research activities in collaboration with non-academic actors, are key points of the program. The program aims at contributing to the transition to a sustainable society, as well as providing practical benefits for the organic sector in Baden-Württemberg.

The following projects have been granted:

  • AgroBioDiv – Organic varieties for biodiversity and climate protection
  • ÖkoTrans – Organic agriculture in the context of societal, economic, and ecological transformation processes
  • ÖKO-Valuation – Norms and values for a societal transition to strengthen organic agriculture
  • WertKalb – Innovative strategies for an ethical creation of value from calves originating from organic dairy farming
